In short

What is this?

An EMI calculator estimates your fixed monthly loan payment from principal, annual interest rate, and tenure in months. It uses the standard reducing-balance formula so you see payment, total interest, and total amount payable before you borrow — or when you record EMIs in a ledger.

How this EMI calculator works

Enter the loan principal, the annual interest rate (percent), and the number of months. We compute a level monthly payment on a reducing balance — the same approach banks and lenders commonly use for standard EMIs. Zero-rate loans simply divide principal by months.

What you should check next

  • Total interest over the full tenure — not only the monthly EMI.
  • Whether your leftover after rent and bills still covers this payment.
  • Principal vs interest on each installment when you record real payments.

From estimate to ledger

expenie does not auto-amortize. You can track payable and receivable loans and enter principal, interest, and charges yourself when you pay — so the statement matches what you actually posted.

FAQ

Is this EMI calculator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no account required. Sign up only if you want to track loans and EMIs in a private ledger.
Does it include taxes or processing fees?
No. It models principal and interest only. Add fees or insurance to the principal or as separate expenses if your lender charges them.
Can I use any currency?
Yes. Amounts are unitless numbers — use your workspace currency (USD, INR, PKR, etc.). Results are not converted between currencies.
