1. Who we are

expenie (“expenie”, “we”, “us”) is a personal finance web application operated by Umar Bashir, an individual based in India (the “Operator”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and the Operator.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use expenie. expenie is a private tool for a single person’s own record-keeping — each account belongs to one individual and is not intended for shared, team, or organizational use.

3. Your account

You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at mail.umarbashir@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. The figures and records you enter are yours to maintain; expenie does not verify their accuracy.

4. What expenie is — and is not

expenie is a private ledger for tracking expenses, income, accounts, loans, budgets, and recurring items that you enter manually. It does not connect to your bank, does not import transactions automatically, and does not move or hold money.

expenie is not a bank and is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. It is a record-keeping tool. Any decisions you make based on what you see in expenie are your own.

5. Trial, Pro subscription, and billing

New accounts receive a 14-day full Pro trial at no charge and without a payment method. During the trial you get the full product (including AI capture and recurring rules you confirm). After the trial ends, you must subscribe to expenie Pro to continue creating or changing ledger data. Your existing data is retained. Billing and account settings remain available so you can subscribe, manage payment methods, or delete your account.

expenie Pro is billed monthly or yearly in USD (tax included where configured) through our payment processor, Dodo Payments. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges to your chosen payment method until you cancel. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. We may change prices or plan features; where we do, we will give reasonable notice, and changes take effect from your next renewal. 6. Your data and content

The financial records you enter remain yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, process, and display that data so the service works for you. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your workspace data as described there.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use expenie for any unlawful purpose or to store unlawful content;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure;
• resell, sublicense, or provide access to expenie to third parties; or
• interfere with any other person’s use of the service.

8. Intellectual property

expenie, including its name, logo, design, and software, is owned by the Operator and protected by applicable law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use expenie for its intended purpose — they do not transfer any ownership to you.

9. Availability

We aim to keep expenie available and reliable, but we provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features, and maintenance or factors outside our control may cause interruptions.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, expenie is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of any figures or calculations.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profit, or savings, arising from your use of or inability to use expenie. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify the Operator against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of expenie or your breach of these Terms.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using expenie and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or use expenie in a way that risks harm to the service or others. On termination, your right to use expenie ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) continue to apply.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. You agree that the courts located in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of expenie, subject to any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use expenie after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
